At the banquet, Kara Settles, Junior Class President, gave a welcome which was followed by a response from Stan Williams, Senior Class President. Mr. Davis and Mr. Hux each gave short talks. Kathy Griffin read a poem dedicated to the seniors. The band, Nickels, provided music for the dance. The Senior Class of 1980 would like to extend its thanks to the Juniors for a great and memorable evening. For yesterday is but a dream, And tomorrow is only a vision. But today well-lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness, and every tomorrow a vision of hope. 203 As you can see, we've all grown very close this past year. The Reveille Staff would like to thank those that helped make this book possible: Mr. James Callahan, Craig Photography, The Daily Statesman-Messenger, The Stoddard County News, and a special thanks is extended to our fearless leader, Mr. Bud Jenkins. In closing, we would like to leave this thought with the students of DHS: Time passes quickly, but this book holds a portion of time all of us treasure and will always remember. We, the Reveille staff, are seniors now, so we look toward the future. Our high school years are over. We won't be attending any more basketball or football games, assemblies, pep rallies, club meetings, or club trips. We won't be walking down the halls of DHS laughing and talking to our classmates. You, who are not seniors, still have these experiences to look forward to. We ask that you take advantage of them. 208
