So here’s a cheer for Dexter High School, For Dexter High School, our dear old high. Here’s to our classes, here’s to our lasses, Here’s to the lads they adore. Here’s to the Seniors so mighty, Juniors so flighty, Freshies and Sophomores. Let mirth and gladness, banish all sadness And as the days go by, you’ll find us ready, Steady, boosting for Dexter High. Soon for us will our school days be ended, The dreams of youth that fade so fast, But we know that our hearts oft will ponder In memory o’er scenes that are past. There are joys that will long be remembered And friendships too that ne’er can die Then here’s a cheer for Dexter High School, For Dexter High School, our dear old high. AS YEARS GO BY Wide-eyed wonderings, everything new, All to learn and to see Wandering lost in a vast new world Freshmen, then were we. More secure in our new world That was growing close to our heart, We searched ourselves and our role in life-Sophomores then was our part. With surroundings familiar and D.H.S. our home We had fewer questions to ask Instead we were giving the answers to those Being juniors was our task. But now as we look with anticipation To the day we’ll all go away, We seniors of seventy-two have Just a few words to say: Take it slowly, enjoy it, Don’t wish your life away- For the passage way from Freshman to Senior Passes quickly along the way!
