J Q as September of 1954 saw 13 bashful and bewildered freshmen wan- dering dazedly up and down the halls, wondering just exactly what was going on! The members of our class that year were: Melba Batdorf, Wilma Jean Hoyt, Rita Clark, Pauleta Valdois, Marsha Leith, Anna Jane Waldschmidt, Tom Day, Delbert Daniel, John Robinson, Dennis Forcade, Charles Melugin, Elmer Dean Cochran, and Gary Brazle. Our sponsor was Miss Virginia Ponder. We lost Melba Batdorf and Wilma Jean Hoyt that year. Band members were: Anna Jane Waldschmidt, Pauleta Valdois, Rita Clark Qtwirlerj, Elmer Dean Cochran, Delbert Daniel, and Tom Day. As sophomores we all felt pretty wise in the ways of school and wondered if we could ever have been as green as the present crop of freshmen. Dale Livingston became a new member of our class. Jake Brennan was our sponsor. We had a food sale that year as our project. Mr. Brennan took us to Fall River Dam on our class party, which was a lot of fun. Pauleta Valdois was chosen to be the Carnival Queen. Band members included Anna Jane Waldschmidt, Rita Clark, Pauleta Valdois, Elmer Dean Cochran, Delbert Daniel, and Tom Day. At the beginning of our junior year Pat Bartlett became a new member of our class. We received our class rings in November. We were very proud of them. We gave the seniors a very nice banquet in the Osage Hotel at Arkansas City. The theme was Blue Moon. In January we had our annual magazine sales. April 16 was the date of the junior play, Monkey's Uncle. Mrs. Robinson and Mrs. Fruitt, our sponsors, coached the play. Band members were: Anna Jane Wald- schmidt, Rita Clark Cdrum majorettej, Pauleta Valdois, Elmer Dean Cochran, and Delbert Daniel. Our senior year found us with two new members: John Cox, of Wichita, and Don Waldschmidt, of Arkansas City. We lost Marsha Leith. For a project we sold Christmas cards and Stanley products. Pauleta Valdois was chosen Arkalalah Queen, and Anna Jane Wald- schmidt was chosen by Maple City as their Arkalalah Queen. Mrs. Robinson was again chosen as our sponsor. Our senior play, 'Mystery in the Library, was given on November 22. Band members were Pau- leta Valdois, Rita Clark fdrum majorettej, Anna Jane Waldschmidt, Elmer Dean Cochran, and Delbert Daniel.
