tgefzw has fsfaxly Somethrng new was added to the drgnrfled halls of Dewar Hrgh School rn the fall of 52 The batters of elementary school had frnally reached frrst base safely The Joys and sorrows of hlgh school stretched before 19 eager freshmen The boys had the majorrty of the class votes so on electron day Dwane Brrttran was elected Presrdent Roger Geary Vrce Presrdent Neal Lackey Secretary Treasurer Not a grrl rn offrcel Nothrng of great rmportance happened that year The Sophomore year started rn a srmrlar manner by the electron of Dwane Brrttran as Presrdent Roger Geary Vrce Presrdent I1mm1eMoudy Secretary Treasurer Our class of 19 had rrsen to the sum of 20 The football team garned that year and got as far as the semr finals rn the state playoffs w1th the help of the Sophomore boys Everybody enjoyed thrs year very much Jumors were feelrng mlghty spry rn 1951 when school started After all another year and the world would be at the feet of the Junror Class Members We had lost four mem bers durrng the past year among them Dwane Brrttran who had been our leader the past two years That year Roger Geary was elected Presrdent Neal Lackey Vrce Presrdent and Delores Durbrn Secretary Treasurer That year was spent rn rarsrng money for the wrth amazrng success Then came the banquet whrch we had been lookrng forward to for so long The theme for our banquet was Wagons West Everyone enJoyed the class trrp that came next We went to Sulphur where we vrsrted Platt Natronal Park then over to Ardmore down to Lake Texhoma up to Ada where we went to the show that nrght Mrs Strlwell was our sponsor and she sure showed us a good trme Senrors Drgnrfred Senrors walked rn the door rn the fall of 5.2 Some of them felt happy yet others foresaw the day not far ahead when they would walk out of the doors of D H S never to return to the joy and sorrows of hrgh school days Melvrn Durbrn who had returned from servrce wlth the 45th Drvrsron was elected as the man to lead us that year Roger Geary was elected Vrce Presrdent and Delores Durbrn was elected Secretary Treasurer Home base was just a few feet ahead The future ahead of that The rmportant thrngs that were ahead began to form rn the mrnds of the senrors and they began to feel that they would not be so glad to leave thrs school But as the trme grew nearer they began to see blue skres rn the freld of lrfe and as eager as they had begun thrs run from home base four years ago they reached home base ready to take up the bat agaln and try therr new learned abrlrty thrs trme wrth a t1nge of regret at leavrng the school where so much had happened Many memorable thrngs wrll lrve rn the mrnds of the Senrors of 52 53 forever Junior-Senior Banquet.
