RICHARD DANKO Chief Administrator Education through discipline of the body and mind can train a man for greatness --------- . Prepare for your purpose and station in life, seeking truth and under- standing of the most important of all processes . . . HUMAN RELATIONS, MISS HELENA T. DEVEREUX Founder of Devereux Schools I-Iumani nihil a me alienum Puto To us no man is a Stranger President and Director as Message EDWARD L. FRENCH, Ph. D. I President and Director To the Texas Graduating Class of 1967: Four centuries ago, an English writer named John Heywood observed that, A hard beginning maketh a good ending. What he neglected to say, of course, was that the final result of any endeavor depends upon the personal effort put into it. You are graduating, not because you have mastered a certain number of academic subjects or satisfied a pre-determined set of requirements, but rather be- cause, in a very real sense, you are on your way to a good ending. Your task now is to solidify the gains you have made during your stay with Devereux Schools, and to meet each new day's challenges in such a way that, many years from now, you will be able to look upon your life with self-respect. May whatever path you choose to follow lead to the fulfillment that comes only from a life well lived! Sincerely yours, ji Edward L. French, Ph.D, President and Director Director 0 Development 'S Message MR. JOHN BARCLAY Director of Development Devereux Schools TO TI-IE STUDHNITS OF DEVEREUX SCHOOLS IN TEQAS The years ahead hold many exciting challenges. The rewards awaiting the young man or woman who can successfully meet these challenges are many. Hopefully, the insight, understanding and maturity you have gained at Devereux will stand you in good stead. Please accept our continuing wishes, for it is in your personal success that all those who have devoted their careers to the work of The Devereux Foundation find their most meaningful rewards. ghd B270 Table 0 Contents Foreword - Administra Seniors - - Students - - Academics - - Sports - - tive Advisors Recreation Activities - Home Areas ----- Gentry - Ranch Summer Camp Austin Summer Special Events Personnel - - - Advertisements Autograph Page - Austin Camp - Foreword We, the staff of The 1967 Viking, would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to all those involved with making its publication possible.
