Wouldn't this old world be better, If the folks we meet would say: l know something good about you, And then treat us iust that wayl Wouldn't it be fine and dandy, lf each hand-clasp wann and true, Carried with it the assurance I know something good about you. Wouldn't things here be more pleasant If the good thats in us all, Were the only thing about us, That folks bothered to recall! Wouldn't Life be lots more happy lf we 'd praise the good we see! For theres such a lot of goodness In the worst of you and me. Wouldn't it be nice to practice This fine way of thinking too, You know something good about me, l know something good about you!

.,.. Y my Friday the fourteenth of September was really an unlucky day for Freshmen, who that day were initiated by the Sophomores into the mysteries of high school life. In the moming they were ob- liged to polish the shoes of the upper classmen. At three o'clock the Freshmen dressed in fancy costumes such as long underwear, grass skirts, straw hats, and overalls on back- wards. While the upper classmen repaired to the football field. There they were treated to egg shampoos, to decoration with lip stick and finally to a swift run around the field made difficult by hip boots and high heels. Their reward was a treat of candy secretly filled with pepper. To show them our hearts are in the right place, we gave a party for them that evening. Games were played and refreshments of cookies, ice cream and cakes were served. This was the first party of the year and enioyed very much by all attending. J fl T, y, A 27
