CLASS H ISTORY We embarked upon our career of learmng m September of l934 We were trmtd and shy as our mothers left us at school that well remembered day' Some of us started at Fort Ggden others at Nocatee and st1ll others at Arcadta Our frrst couple of years were spent mostly rn makrng sandtables and readmg Peter and Peggy Then we settled down to real arrthmettc and spell1ng We thought the frfth and srxth grades hard but we longed for them whrle strugglmg through Phys1cs Semor Math and Shorthand' When we were m the seventh grade romance blossomed' The boys began to make eyes at the blushmg lrttle grrls ln the erghth grade we were all exclted and a lrttle scared to thmk we would be m Hrgh School next year And then the great day came' We started to Hrgh School' As lowly Freshmen w were shy and bashful We pulled through core 9 even after a few attempts to wrrte poetry We elected the followmg class offrcers Brll W1ll1ams Presrdent Nell Kelly V1cePres1dent Ortez Zergler Secretary and Treasurer and Marre Iones Reporter Our Bepresentattves to Student Councrl were Betty Lee Mlller and Bob Avant When we were s1lly sophomores we could look down at the l1ttle Freshmen And how we all loved ancrent I-hstory Plato and Hypocrates' We chose B1llW1ll1ams Presr dent Gene Nabell V1cePres1dent and Martha Ann Melvrn Secretary and Treasurer Gur representattves to the Student Councrl were Nell Kelly Marre Iones and Gene Nabell On becommg Know all Iuntors we really felt blg' We all worked and worked on concesston stands and football dances And what a tlme we had Wllh the Iunror Sen1or Banquet' We rushed around for weeks and worrred and wondered lt was a grand affarr We elected Earl Yarbrough Presrdent Vrola Kornegay V1cePres1dent Lyllrs Ann Balls Secretary and Treasurer and Gene Nabell Bus1ness Manager We chose Nell Kelly Wade Fowler Harmon Platt and Carl Sandusky as Student Councll representatrves And then the frnal year' At last we becam d1q1'l1flQd Semors We won the Semor Underclassmen football game And how we worked on the Annual' We wrote and rewrote rushmg to complete our ed1t1on before the deadlrne We elected Harmon Platt Presrdent Carl Sandusky V1cePres1dent Betty Wade Treasurer and Nell Kelly Secretary We chose for Student Councrl Dean Duncan Thurston M Leod Gene Nabell Stanley Crews and Gene Ttdwell And now as we leave our school days behmd we wlsh to thank our teachers who have helped to make them happy ones We carry 1nto the world many wonderful memortes and wrll always remember those who helped to make them so 25 1 1 - . , . . 11 11 . . . 1 , . . 11 11 9 1 . , 11 11 . - 1 1 1' ' ' 1 1 1 1 - 11 . 11 . , I 1 . 1 1 ' 1 1 - , . . 11 11 . . 1 1 1 ' 1 1 1 1 - 1 1 1 - . . . . . 1 . 9 - . . , - 1 1 1 ' 1 1 1 1 - 1 v 1 1 1
