Perhaps the high spot of your high school career was the Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom. The hours of planning, the last-minute rush and worry, and finally our prom itself make up one of our happiest memories. After working all day our minds and bodies were (we thought) too tired to even consider dancing; but even though we were in school, our thoughts couldn't have been farther away from books and studies. Brightly clothed Arabs in distant cities stared from the walls and strange music came from a red and white striped tent in the corner. Couples danced in the shadow of Ali Baba’s cave and paused for punch at a green oasis. Behind one palm tree was incense that failed to burn, but the pale blue light filtering through the gauzy ceiling added the air of mystery that we had sought. Next year there will be another prom, but this is the one we will never forget.
