c 'txiikL IxJilL (but JojdamsmL We the Senior Class of 1955 , residing in the city of Deshler, Henry County, State of Ohio, in the United States of America; being of unsound mind and overwhelming ambition, do hereby publish and declare this to be our final will and testament. To our patient advisors: To Mr. Weber, We leave a box of rustless, dustless, and really dustless chalk. Look at all the money you can save on dry cleaning bills. To Mr. Norton, we will a woman. Now you will still have someone to drag around by the hair after we leave. To the remaining faculty, we leave the precious memory of the well- behaved and innocent boys and girls we have always been. May you never forget us. To the Sophomores, we will our regular attendance in Mr. Burke's classes. Now he can be as proud of you, as he was of us. To the Freshmen, we will our ability to agree with the teachers, without losing our temper. I, Bob Suber, will my ability to get along with Mr. Shauck to Gene Moses. Watch that finger punch. (flaAA. (pAophna One bright morning, in the middle of the night, in the year 1965, as my wife and I had just boarded the train and got comfortably seated we heard the conductor coming down the aisle saying tickets please. It was none other than our old classmate of 55 , Gehrett Far- quharson. After he had finished picking up the tickets he came back and sat down with us. Knowing Gehrett for his gift of gab he reminded us of our school days of 55 . He said he had been back home in Deshler not too long ago visiting his family and he thought while he was home he would take in a wrestling match. As he arrived at the arena in Toledo he noticed a bul- letin outside saying that the women would wrestle. As he come in the wrestlers were al- ready out in the ring. The more he looked at them the more they looked very familiar. They were two old classmates of DHS, Imogene Rein- hardt and Ruth Schwiebert, better known as Rumpin Reinhardt and Sweet Pea Schwie- bert. This got us on the subject more and more and before we knew it we were discussing everyone in the class. Joanne Ruskey and Marian Fintel own a string of dance studios throughout the country and the most famous dance is to teach horses to do the Mambo. Tom Smith and John Norden are running a paintshop and are painting peoples cars red on one side and yellow on the other just to hear the witnesses argue at the trial. Ben Breece is a Buick dealer and you would well recognize him by the sign he has in front of his store. BREEZY BEN'S BUICKS! It might not be the best car in town but it certainly is the biggest. Ruth Ann Bremer is living in California. She heard Bing Crosby sing Y'all Come and de- cided to take his advice. Delores Mahlman has married a great cartoon- ist, D. R., and have four comic strips. That's a change isn't it? Dick Yockey is practicing hard on his piano in hopes that someday Liberace will be his as- sistant. Ka-see's in Toledo has been taken over by Lois Hoops and Marvin Tietje and their course of meals includes Shicken Show-Mein and for dessert Sherry pie and Sheddar Sheese. Jim Dierickx has finally succeeded in being a teacher. He is teaching Chimpanzees to be pickpockets through the crowd at the Toledo Zoo. Betty Nickles is working as a test pilot in a burl- esque show. Every night at nine she takes off. Marlene Meyer and Gerry Meyer have invented a jet propelled broom that is sweeping the country. Phil Nicholson has been on the blink ever since his wife gave him the eye! ! ! Mary Ann Koppenhofer has married a multi- millionaire but she just laughs and says, Pearls come from oysters, but diamonds come from suckers. Reggie Meyer hos invented a revolving goldfish bowl for tired goldfish. Frank Hogrefe is working on a new way to play pool on the round side of a square table. Bob Suber has changed from his trumpet to a tamberine. Salvation Army here we come. Ernest Tietje has a chicken farm and is raising chickens without wish-bones. He says they are such happy and contented chickens that they have nothing to wish for. Janet Thompson is the main star in the Broad- way play Rain. She plays the lead of Miss Sadie Thompson. Betty Betts is hanging out in Greenwich Village, New York. She is working on her latest mas- terpiece, a life size statue of Richard Nor- ton which she intends to donate to our dear old Alma Mater. Charley Moses is working for the FBI. He rounds up people with loaded arms in their sleeves. Lowell Walthers, a famous jockey, has won the Kentucky Derby for three years in a row. He quotes, Next year the horse is going to carry me. Janis Goller is in show business and has a job working for her father on the stage. She is best known as Gorgeous Goller. Dick Courtney and Audrey Hoops as a team have become successful interior decorators. He specializes in chandeliers while she sticks to carpeting. Marilyn Johnson is in a U. S. 0. troop with Mar- ilyn Shively and Linda Yungmann. Shively plays the piano, Yungmann sings while John- son dances! ! ! Dick Stanfield editor and owner of the Deshler Flag has hired Jean Creager to help in the proof reading. There are only 10% of the words misspelled. Carmen Imbrock, having married Don Hogrefe, has become leader of the local garden club. Her latest speech concluded, With ten of us around the house we're all a little potty. Vern Tussing has his own orchestra now. He calls it his Rubber Band, because he is try- ing to stretch the music as far as he can. Ella Otten and Nancy Kline are putting out alarm clocks that don't run down. They say that all you have to do is set them on a wind- ing staircase. Donna Koppenhofer and Beatrice McMaster own a jewelry store. Right now they have a special 3-piece combination on their rings. Engagement, Wedding, and Teething. Gene Maas who is now a famous electrician, says that at the slightest mistake he will be tickled to death. Roger Trenkamp plays a harmonica in a hill- billy band. He always was good at eating corn on the cob. The train is now coming to a stop and the crowds ore rushing on. Before we could say farewell's, Gehrett was pushed to the other end of the car and as we got off the train, and turned to wave good-by we saw Gehrett still fighting the crowds. 19
