As the school year neared an end, we started slaving away on the most important occasion for any Junior-.-The Junior-Benior Banquet', The date wa set for May 4, ’ e decorated the gym us- ing a Hawiian Theme, with palm trees, grass hurts, jungle, and of course, we couldn't leave out the Hula Girl!I At 12:00 we went to the Star Theater to enjoy a movie. 1951 slips upon us and we'v.e been told that is the year we are to graduate, so we take it that we are at last the Seniors, 1+3 of us, the largest cl-ss ever to graduate from Deshler High School. The decrease due to Janet Firman Aathleen Shortgen, Ruby Phillips, and Ray Dangler withdrawing Mr. Burke is the unfortunate one to guide us through this final year, l.e elect- ed the following officers: President--------Lillis Meyer Vice-President--i velyn Yungmann Secretary-------Doris Weienburg Treasurer-------Ramona Breece News Reporter---Marvin Hoops Like all Seniors, we were out to make money. We sponsored several bake sales, sold Christmas cards and magazines, and man- ia ed concessions at Basketball games and also at the noon hour. We presented our Senior Class Rlay and edited this Annual. , e went to Tiffin to have our pictures taken. The finished products were received suortly before Christmas. with all our hard work behind us and the money in our pockets, I43 of us-traveled to 'Washington, for 5 'days. As a whole we can'only, say, Never A Dull Momenti! After several weeks of rest from the tripland most of us needed rest), the Juniors honored us wioh a well-planned ban- quet in the beautifully decorated gym. The final ceremonies of graduation ended our wonderful school life together, but these memories and our friendship will go on forever. Page 23
