The Winners Here at Desert Shadows we have a lot of talent, but no one has ever seen how much we really had until we saw the Maps for this year's map contest. Miss Hun- stad and Mrs. Bond are the teachers that put every- thing togetherg although they had a lot of help from Mr. Jarvis, Ms. Rebeka, Mrs. Scott, Mrs. Seddon and Mrs. Santoro. All Stars Say o To Drugs! For the past two years a group called the All Stars has been help- ing and improving our school. The All Stars improve our school by improving themselves, All Stars are working on the special project this year, Say No To Drugs. The All Stars learn refusal skills, and other techniques for saying No. All Stars is an important group that has helped students to be polite, pre- pare for the future, be confident, and be a success. Kristen Perron receives a big hug from Mr. Cooper for a iob well done, Lift off to Say No to Drugs. In the spring of eighty- seven the Elk's Club sponsored a Say No To Drugs essay contest for the Paradise Valley School District. The winner was Kristen Perron. She attends our school, DSMS. The essay contest winners of schools received Say No To Drugs t-shirts. The district winner's name was placed on the traveling trophy on display at that year's winning school.
