The Candlelight Ceremony is a great tradition, Nationaljunior Honor Society is a group of eighth grade students with a 3.65 grade average or above. They elect their own officers , who are President- Adam Donnenfield, Vice President- Carrie Smith, Secretary- Suzanne Milne, and Treasurer- Kim Donnelly. They hold meetings help charities, organized a dance, and sold food after school. For all their work at the end of the year they go on a trip to Golf-N-Stuff. Congratulations!

All work and no play, The 1987 - 88 yearbook class worked hard'to make this yearbook possible. Our yearbook class stuck together through all deadlines. Everyone helped each other whether they were taking a picture or drawing a layout. This Class was one of the best classes in our lives. We have had so much fun, but all the thanks goes to Mrs. Ryan.

Nina Zimmerman, runner-up, Dr. Van, and Robyn Richards, winner Spelling Bee F Finalists, Heather Sinclair, Nina Zimmerman, julie Werner, and Matt Moore, with winner Robyn Richards. This year the school spelling bee took place on December 10th. The top two spellers from every English class competed in the spelling bee in hope of winning and going on to the district wide competition held in Deer Valley. After one and one half hours, a winner finally emergedi Robyn Richards Cseventh gradej won the spelling bee with Nina Zimmerman Ceighth gradej as the first runner up. Congratula- tions to Robyn, Nina, and every- one who participated in the spell- ing bee. The co-ordinaters of this event were Mrs. Helen Heimbuck and Mrs. Sharon Hildebrant. Miss School Miss ut ' Q sng Cindy Yee receiving a S50 savings bond from Keith Howard of Great American First Savings Bank. Miss School Miss Out is a special program here at DSMS and other middle schools throughout the state. It encourages perfect attendance If you had not missed any school, or missed only one or two days of school, this year, you were qualified for special prizes. Cindy Yee a seventh grader, was granted a 350 savings bond by Great American First Savings Bank. Many other students also won items such as posters, bumper stickers, and dance passes. So let's all work together to help our school have the best attendance record ever.
