Des Moines Technical High School students and staff donated about 3(K) pints of blood to help patients in need in Cen- tral Iowa. The number of lives that may have been saved from those donations could be far more than 3(K) because of modern component therapy. One donation of blood could save as many as four persons. Therefore, those 3(M) pints could help 12(X) people! Vor the third year running. The Technician was cut to 6 issues this year because of the yearbook s deadline and a shortage of students to work on it. We apologize for this. Hopefully, next year the Techni- cian will have a new format with new columns that will interest students more than they have in the past. We would like to thank Mr. Jefchak for all of the artwork he did for us. We also thank Mr. Fetters, (print shop) who made all of our PMT s. The journalism students have put in a lot of hours preparing the yearbook; We hope you enjoy the 1984 Tech High Engineer. The program was started this school year, and so far, has been a success. Students from Lincoln, North, Hoover, Mast and Roosevelt are l)ussed to Tech for special courses and then back to their school for rej ular classes. In order to make people in l)es Moines more aware of Central Campus, an open house was held and the public was invited. In 1986, after the last Tech Hi h class graduates, the entire building will turn into Central Campus, a learning center for Des Moines high schools.
