The year of 1981 brought many golden opportunities to Tech from the gold medal performances of the athletes to the true blue attitudes of the school ' s organizations. From Tech ' s solid gold cov areas the students will face the blue horizons with an education no other high school in the state has to offer. With the Tech faculty, who taught with the golden rule, this truly was a blue and gold year for the school. The theme of this year ' s yearbook, if you haven ' t already guessed, is blue and gold, which the faculty and students hope to see waving above Des Moines forever. Long may Tech live on to become as immortal as the Golden Gate Bridge, the California Gold Rush, and the Golden Arches. May it always symbolize the best in vocational training as blue is to the seas, as the bright blue of the sky, and as the blue in the nation ' s flag.
