'tTech is a pretty school, the students and teachers are very friendly, stated Birgitta Lind- qvist, our foreign student from Sweden. Birgitta says that in Sweden things are more strict. In Sweden, when the teacher enters the classroom the students stand and say How-do- you-do and sit down. She believes that here the teachers are friendlier to the students and act as classmates. During her stay at Tech, Birgitta participated in many activities. Some of these were as follows: Student Council, All-City Student Council, Drill Team, Drama Club, and Foreign Committee. She enjoyed all of her activities, but has no favorite. I have never seen anything like it said Bir- gitta, when asked how she felt when she came to her first Pep Assembly. She said that there seemed to be much more pep in the beginning than there was later on. The Homecoming game was all right until it started to rain. I liked the dance and the pretty decorations, and I thought the Homecoming As- sembly was neat. The crowning of the King and Queen was beautiful, commented Birgitta after experiencing her first Homecoming. Birgitta's first day in Tech's lunchroom was one of confusion. She said it was awfully crowded and she was late to her class. There was also the problem of trying to make a choice of all the dif- ferent types of food. She said the food was delicious, but it was a little fattening. After seeing her first foot- ball game Birgitta said, I didn't understand what was going on, it looked as though the boys were down on the ground fighting. She be- lieves some of the students take the games a little too seriously. I understand basketball a little better than football, said Birgitta, But I like football because I enjoy being outdoors. I would like to go up in an airplane, go bowl- ing, and see all the western states, if I have time before I return to Sweden. I will always remember Tech, its students, and the faculty. . . . and Tech will always remember Birgitta. 17 Bit 0' Sweden Tech's St. Lucia Birgitta's American sister , Mickie Halverson, and Birgitta.
