At Des Moines our team won by a decision of two to one. Our boys dis- played a thorough knowledge ofthe sub- ject and attacked and refuted decisively the arguments of the negative. Each had a convincing delivery which went far in winning the debate. League 'wma enme Davidson 'lu 'NPIIZITIUP drum e negative team consisting of Ben Hazen enme Davidson and William Spurrier debated Omaha High School at Cmaha and lost The Nebraska team employed skillful tactics and excelled in delivery The Des Moines team made a good showing and the feature of the debate was the work of Ben Hazen both in his hrst speech and rebuttal ln ease of manner in skillful analysis of his own case and that of his opponents in refutation in impromptu summary, and in effective presentation of argument no representative of West Des Moines ever excelled the leader of this team. But the Omaha team was the strongest we ever met from that school and succeeded in winning the approval ol the judges.
