All of these were part of the 1978 ' 'LAKER' ' football squad. H-,... mum Wiikf: 'l' 4:9 Jo ill U C ll Q C. With a strong urge to prepare for a winning season, squad members practiced many hours even before school convened for the school term. Coach Jerry Schwan and his assistants Gordon Moen and Palmer Anderson and the squad set a goal-a winning season and the goal was achieved. The only loss came when the Lakers fell ' 'victims' ' to the strong rivals-The Berthold Bombers. It was a close well-played contest but defeat was encountered by the Lakers. With the mention of a disappointment one must also recall the exciting Laker-Glenburn Panther game . EXCITING! ! ! Wow! ! ! Winning by one point in overtime is quite a feeling . Named to the All-Conference squad were Jody Martin, Steve Kilbourn, Rick Fox and joel Smith.
