Foreign lnfrigue This is one of our newly formed clubs comprised of twenty-eight students from l rf-nch l and French lt classes. The first job was to get permission from the Stu- dent Council and Mr. Landis to start the club. Next came the election of officers: Sam Mastrorocco, prcsidentg Dave Robin- son. vice president: Pete Lanza. treasurerg Norma Olivcrio. secretary. The club met once a month to secure a better understanding of French, and to develop an association between our words and those of France. Ideas flourished and cnj-oyment was had from winning prizes for matching contests and bingo. Witli the students co- operating with Mrs. Tovo. the adviser, the club is will on thc road to success. Linda Mortimore, Patty Hager, Tommy Yancy and Henry Shaw represented -our club at Allegheny High School in Pittsburgh, where Latin tests were being sponsored. Latrobe High Schoolis Latin Club held its annuals banquet in February. This also was attended by several members. We received an invitation to the State Con- vention of the Junior Classical League, which was held at Clenn Rock, Pennsyl- vania, in April. Finally. the main event. the pilgrimage of the entire club to Pitts- burgh. There we visited the Buhl Plane- tarium. Clark Candy Company and Greater Pittsburgh Airport. The present day members give Mrs. Toyo their thanks and sincere wishes for continuing success. This year marks the beginning of the Latin Club under the direction of Mrs. Toyo. The club consists of sophomore and freslnnen Latin students. The goal of the club is to promote a better Latin understanding and to make it more fun.
