With a Senior dominated squad and the return of eight lettermen, the Derry Rams, coached by Mr. Bucci, compiled an honorable record of seven victories, one tie, and a single defeat. Derry's opener was a toughie but the Rams defeated Penn Twp. by the margin of 12-7. Tom Dillon and Don Ryan chalked up the victor's score by each hitting paydirt for a touchdown. The following game found the Rams up against Bell Twp., one of the finest Class B teams in the W.P.I.A.L. Derry absorbed its worst and only defeat by a 31-0 count and thus were eliminated from the W.P.I.A.L. race. Traveling to Homer City the Rams once again found the going rough. Coming back in the second half to score their only marker by fullback Ryan, the Rams had to be satis- fied with a 6-6 deadlock. Playing host to Armaugh the Rams came out on top while holding the visitors scoreless 25-0. Ryan scored all the winning points. Again playing at home the Rams eked out a 13-12 victory over a strong Elders Ridge eleven. Again Don Ryan did the scoring for Derry by chalking up two touch- downs and the winning extra point. Derry kept on the winning trail by downing Trafford and West Newton by a 13-7 score in each game. The lose fearing Rams journeyed to Ligonier where they downed their arch- rivals in a rough batle 16-13 to end the gridiron season of 1951. This was also the final game for the following seniors: Louis Bozelli, Richard Platt, Charles Nicholson, Ernest Serena, Bernard and Kenneth Hensler, Thomas Dillon, Donald Ryan, Richard Sindorf, Teddy Bucci, and Stanley Akins.
