Supervising Principal Elected Supervising Principal of Derry Township in 1952 and appointed to the same position of the Derry Area Joint School System in 1955, the conscientious and energetic Mr. Kurtz has done a fine iob in guiding our school. Although this position places upon him a great responsibility, Mr. Kurtz still finds time for hunting and fishing. Hav- ing once been a gridiron star and a prominent football coach, our supervis- ing principal is interested in our team, and closely follows their progress from season to season. ii E'.'fiiI.7,.'.? 2 i.'Xi'-Milf? Ji? Assistant Supervising Principal Admired and respected by students and faculty is Mr. Landis. Being gradu- ated from Washington and Jefferson Col- lege, and the University of Pittsburgh, he was elected to Derry Borough High fac- ulty in 1932, Principal in 1938, and Su- pervising Principal of Derry Schools in 1948. When the Derry Schools were ioined in 1955, Mr. Landis became Assist- ant Supervising Principal of Derry Area Joint Schools. The old adage says, Men must be taught as if you taught them naught. Mr. Landis has this knack of teaching. 11

STUMP Capable of the responsibilities placed upon him by this important position, and worthy of his many praises, our principal, Mr. Stump strives constantly to perfect the facilities and appearance of our school. Bettering our edu- cational status is his chief goal. His congenial spirit re- fiects throughout the complete student body and faculty a feeling of cooperativeness. Our intelligent leader has been the contributing factor in the selection of the proper vccations for innumerable students of our school. MR. EDMUNDS ln addition to instructing several classes in bookkeep- ing, Mr. Edmunds has complete charge of the school's and club's finances. Quiet and friendly, he is respected by all who come in contact with him. He spends a lot of his extra time giving out necessary supplies to teachers and students in the supply and book rooms.
