D INISTR TIO THEY KEEP THE WHEELS PRINCIPAL Always a busy man. Mr. Kurtz suddenly found on the morning of July 6 that his job was doubled in responsibilities and work. He was faced with a school that was onlv partial- ly usable and a larger enrollment of students than before. It was largely due to his dili- gence and hard work that school was able to open on September 2 as planned. It was a difficult task and Mr. Kurtz spent many long hours on it. The beginning of school found him with his usually full schedule coupled with the problems of rebuilding the burned section of the school. Nevertheless. he still took time to help the students with their various prob- lems as they arose. In December he was chosen to replace Mr. Hardy as supervising principal and has continued to work for the betterment of the school. GUIDANCE DIRECTOR To aid the students in choosing their fu- ture careers, Mr. Stump, the former Guidance Director and now principal of Derry Town- ship, gives an aptitude test to all freshmen. In addition, he supervises I. tests that are ad- ministered to sophomores and seniors. Each student in the high school is interviewed by him individually at some time during their four years here. Elected to replace Mr. Kurtz. Mr. Stump took over his new post in Ianuarv. NVhile quite busy with his duties as actingiprincipal. he still finds time to help the pupils with any problem that might arise concerning their plans before and after graduation.
