SENIOR OFFICERS D Mann, Miss Nicol, B. Smith, J. Peace Senior Review The departing class this year, 1948, will leave behind it many memories of happy events at Derry Township. When this class first came to high school, they were unsure, but excited at the thought of being Freshmen. That first year was spent mainly in becoming adiusted to the high school routine. In a short time they were into the swing of things, and attended football and basketball games, and many other social functions. A Then, as sophomores, they welcomed in and, of course, teased the new Freshman class. They began thinking seriously about what they would do after high school, so that they would be well-prepared. Then, too, there was the excitement of ordering class rings and pins, they would soon be upperclassmen. They became upperclassmen, and it didn't seem any different than when they were Freshmen. Around the middle of the school year, the Junior class held their annual class play. The returns from the play were used to finance the Junior-Senior Prom. The prom that year was truly a memorable occasion for all who attended, and especially for the seniors. Also that year, 1946-1947, the juniors received their long-awaited class rings and pins. Finally, at the end of the term, the seniors graduated, and left the honor position in the high school to the new seniors. This was a very happy day for the iuniors. At last, the coveted position of senior was attained. The seniors really began to think seriously of their future, which was only a matter of months away. They ordered their name cards, and their senior annuals, for these would aid greatly in later years in the recollection of good times in the past. Then came the last few days of school, and with them, came lumps in the throats of the seniors. The solemnity of Baccalaureate and Graduation: the seniors would never forget those last days of school at Derry Township High School, our Alma Mater. '28 President ........ ......
