Contact The purpose of Contact is expressed in its name, which means, Action With Christ . Organized on a student to student basis, the members take an active part in the sessions conducted by the Central Committee members, who meet every week to plan the agenda for each class. The plans al- ways insure the members ofthe oppor tunity to OBSERVE, JUDGE, and ACT. Under the patient supervision of Sister Karl, the club has been completely rehabilitated? 1 C r y q U 4 1' i , I 1 'I JML V ,lf IM I 7 Karen Rofhs Contact Chairmen 'UV 1 X L if f V f ,L Lf If ZW gy, 4 041' ll JU by T rw Qiywe fl Q ,DA ' - t ' 1 ' ' Q 'L' If 1 LL 1 ,f fi' l VL fl L v .t E L Q if M' Z J ' r , r ' 11 , ' 1 1 , ., , , . f, , ul l-X U r ' , . j LN? .lv B 4 n fl if j, Jill MMM, W i My r W , V' wi' t W ' C 'C ' V V W tr VVM Xj 9 X L0 U 'XL N ,fr i it tb 1 l , , t fy UI. Student Council This year a new system was estab- lished for the efficiency of Derham's , student government. General council meetings alternated with meetings of 5 the executive board. This board. Th' composed ofthe Student Council pres- sw ident. secretary, parliamentarian, and the four class presidents met once every two weeks to plan the agenda for the general meeting. For the first time a parliamentarian was chosen to advise the council on questions of parliamentary procedure. The council has replaced the demerit system with an honor system which gives each girl an opportunity to use her own judgment in the matter of personal appearance. Uniform clean- ing days were again a council project, and the representatives sponsored the All-School Mission Project in March. Huun GLA55 Co-Editors of the Hour Glass Sue Hogseth and Pat O'Kane. Scheduled to meet :very free minute, the HOUR GLASS staff may he credit- ed as one ofthe most worried and hurried at Derham. It isn't unusual to see members rushing up and down the halls in pursuit of copy, pictures, and plans, for it takes the coopera- tion of the entire school to produce a worthwhile yearbook. Under the di- rection of Miss Kollar, the staff has tried to produce an HOUR GLASS that is both informative and enjoyable.
