It looks like the members of the Political Science Club are interested in their topic. Members of the Political Science Club, un- der the direction of Mr. Rogowski and Mr. Spencer, meet each week for the purpose of discussing current affairs and timely events. The discussions cover a wide range of topics of govemmental and social significance. DIO-VISUAL CL B The Audio-Visual Club, sponsered by Mr. Schmidt, is a service organization composed of boys who are responsible for running the P.A. booth, movie and slide projectors, and tape re- corders. E CH CL Bi Mary Lamont, janet Honnold, Roberta Righter, Deb- bie Nitzke, and Louise Zeller get refreshments during the Christmas party. Derby's Spanish Club, under the sponsership of Mrs. Pierce, Miss Bonomo, and Miss Bush enjoyed a very active year. The Christmas season was high- lighted by the making of pinatas which were sold to the Spanish classes and used for the traditional Pam jagnow, Carol Holtz, Marge Hammer, Louise Zeller, Jane Wattles, and Miss Bush seem to be having a very good time at the French Club's annual Christmas party. The French Club, sponsered by Miss Bush and Miss Meyer, is made up of eighth and ninth grade French stu- dents at Derby. Among club activities this year were a Christmas party, a field trip to a French restaurant and a visit to the George Pierrot show. SPANISH CLUB Spanish parties. Field trips were made to Bandit's Villa, a Spanish restaurant and to see Antonia, a flamenco dancer. Spring was highlighted by aFiesta which involved the club and all Spanish classes. Spanish fiesta. A bowler watches the action. DERBY BOWLI G LEAG E This year many of Derby's students again participated in the Derby Bowling Dennis Ragan throws the ball hop- ing for a strike. League under the able direction of Miss Jeanne. 200 games were bowled by Dennis Ragan and Steve Getz. The first place team consisted ofChris Buchanan, Steve Gabert, Don Thomas, and Bruce Jamerson. Besides team bowling, stu- dents and teachers took part in an ex- cidng game- Bowlers check their scores. A team rejoices at a victory. page 27
