Honor Society sets high standards for members Honor Society officers this year were headed by president Don Douglas. l-le was ably sup- ported by his vice-president, Barb Miller, Sue Gruschow, secretary, Paul Anderson, treasurer, and Jim Weinrich, historian. ,Under the leadership of Society advisor Mrs. Sacha, the group has been involved in many projects this year. The student-faculty basketball game, perhaps the social event of the season, is always a great success. This year, the faculty team, led by high scorer Kil- ler Keller put up a valiant fight, but succumbed in the dying moments of the game to the youth of the student squad. Another project under- taken was the Thanksgiving Dance. Active in many school activities, the members supply ushers at school functions, and help in the lan- guage lab before school. Skills were improved and new techniques introduced. Vicki Babbin was president of the group, assisted by Beth Carney, vice-president, Anne Hupman, secretary, and Diane York, treasurer. In addition to projects, the students planned field trips to study artwork in other areas. ' Nancy McKinnie, vice-president, Dale Ann Winnie, secretary, and Debby Waters, treasurer, assisted president Jerry Williams in directing the many activities of the Dramatics Club. Besides participating in skits at club meetings, the club took part in plays, and was in charge of make-up for the school variety show. Mrs. Samarien and Miss McKay acted as club advisors.

Newspaper and yearbook keep students posted B Throughout the year students keep pace with school happenings via the DATELINE, our newspaper, and the EMERITUS, the yearbook. In addition, staff members attend student press conferences under the direction of superintendent of schools, Dr. Smith, and guest spea- kers. A weekly article appears on the studentpage of the ECCENTRIC. Our literary anthology, the CHIMERA, is published in the spring. A ,. v Mr. Aicala of Barnum, Mrs. Jahanara Imam, guest speaker from Pakistan, and DATELINE feature editor Sandi Bergman seem amused by happenings at a student press conferance, as news editor Debbie Lebeaux takes down the scoop. While Kathy Sena counts copy, ass't DATELINE editor Cyndy Hall types material for editor-in-chief Pat Moritz, as Kathy Clark checks the board for her next story. ' DATELINE sports editor Leila Frisch, and Robbie Kloor sign up John Morgan for his EMERITUS. Column writer Nancy Underwood turns in het article at the ECCENTRIC office.
