E UTURE An enjoyable exenrng was before me as I settled myself rn a large, comfortable charr before the new telerrsron set I had purchased today I turned the dral to the vsell known statron W O W and dreamy musrc flooded the room as I recognrzed Don Lonardo s band Of course, I had known about Dons success rn the musrc world but I hadn t seen hrm srnce the gr rduatron festrvrtres rn June of 1948 when the members of our Senror class turned therr eyes to the future and prepared to undertake therr desrred posrtrons rn lrfe Don had changed slrghtly but I knew he had lost none of hrs frrendly pleasrng personalrty which contrrbuted much to hrs success Lours Della Monrca and Paul Pascuzzo were the star saxaphone players rn hrs orchestra and hrs srngers both former classmates of mme, vrere jean Adamson and Drno Mranr Much to my regret, the program ended shortly Several well known persons were featured next rn rnterestrng rntervrews I recognrzed Arlene Karlrns petrte figure clothed to perfectron for she was now a Hollywood stylrst Mary Duncan now a cover grrl model, was among those rntervrewed One could easrly understand how Mary had successfully attarned such a posrtron by notrcrng her brrllrant smrle Lourse Mason owner of a charn of Mason Luncheonettes extendrng across the state of Connectrcut, proved to lead an rnterestrng lrfe She was accompanred by two of her waitresses from a local luncheonette Glorra Cacchrllo and Betty Potter The Lookout at Derby Hrgh School had won a natron vr rde contest and Dolores Pettengrll faculty advrser was present to represent the magazrne Marro Polrferno an rrtrst md Salvatore Sprterr who vras nova a populrr man rn the mowres portrayrng humorous ch rracters were present Paul King hrd 1 most unusual occupatron of trapprng and sellrng the furs obtarned Ted Halet had pursued hrs career rn golfrng and wrs now a respected professronal Ann I-Iunrhan had dex eloped her hobby of photography rnto .1 successful career whrle Ioseph Cn rnpoalo had studied drlrgently to become 1 noted surgeon The program dren to 1 close bcfore I had realrzed rt and another one rn vrhrch the audrence partrcrpated, rnstantly captured my attentron especrally srnce I had attended school vr rth thc master of ceremonres Rrchard Salerno Rrch was lookrng well and hrs face was glow rng for he had recognrzed some of the partrcrpants as hrs former classmates john Preneta, vacatronrng from hrs dutres as a busrness executrve, had escorted to the program Mary Duggrn who had undertaken nursrng as a career Harry Francrhrnr now manager of the Rose land Bakery, Lors Crolob who held a secretarral posr tron Paul Yocher a carpenter, and Clara Testone a well known Powers model, were rn attendance Also present were jacquelrne Ambrrsco, owner of a repu table cleaners and lrbrarran Phyllrs Heffernan Trme passes all too qurckly and so the program drew to a close A nevrs broadcrst wrth Kevrn Mooney as the com mentator, brought me up to date on the latest happen rngs Senator Robert Woods had been confined to hrs home wrth rheumatrsm but was recoverrng raprdly hrs doctor, john Frlchak had reported to the Senator s secretary Patrrcra Caldwell, today Robert Dunn had agarn taken frrst prrze rn a yearly prrze bull con test Several Amerrcans had taken first prrze rn the Olymprcs thrs yerr Mrss jean McEnerrrey physrcal instructor vtho travelcd wrth the contestants to forergn countrres was well ple rscd wrth therr showrng Dorothy , .
