THE VICTORY CORPS All over the country hugh schools are organuzung their classroom offer ungs guudance and personnel programs to further the war effort Two obuectuves of the hugh schools war tume program to whuch the Victory Corps us related are ll l the traunung of youth for that war servuce that wull come after they leave school and l2l the actuve partucupatuon of youth un the community s war effort whule they are yet un school The furst seems closer to what goes on un school classrooms and shops the second to the out of clogs actuvutues of students The Vuctory Corps organuzatuon takes account of oth Any and all students enrolled un a secondary school who un the uudg ment of the pruncupal meet the following simple requurements may be enrolled as general members of the Vuctory Corps l The student should be partucupatung un a school physical futness program appropriate to hus abulutues and needs un the lught of hus probable contrubutuon to the natuon s war effort 2 The student should be studyung or have studied school courses appropruate to his age grade abuluty and probable ummeduate and future usefulness to the natuon s war effort wuthun the lumuts of the faculutues of the school 3 The student should be currently partucupatung un at least one um portant contunuung or recurrung war time actuvuty Upon acceptance for general membership un the Vuctory Corps students may ldurung theur last year or twol be organized unto specual servuce duvusuons ln order to provide for unuformuty throughout the natuon fuve duvusuons are provuded for Aur Servuce Duvusuon Land Servuce Duvusuon Productuon Servuce Duvusuon Communuty Servuce Duvusuon However sunce our school lacks the necessary faculutues for two of these duvusuons Sea Servuce and Aur Servuce we have been able to organize only the other three duvusuons Members of the Land Servuce Duvusuon should be plannung and have begun prelumunary preparatuon for servuce un some branch of the ground forces of the Army Members of the Production Servuce Duvusuon should be plannung and have begun prelumunary preparation for servuce un war undustry agriculture or other essentual cuvuluan productive occupations Members of the Community Servuce Duvusuon should be plannung and have begun prelumunary preparatuon for work un community or other servuce occupations such as teaching social work meducune nursung dentistry lubraruanshup or other professuonal servuces stenographer typust book keeper salesman or other dustrubutuve or commercial servuce homemakung chuld care home nursung nutrutuon or sumular servuce A Vuctory Corps un every secondary school wull do much to stimulate Ameruca s sux and a half mulluon hugh school youth to prepare themselves to help meet crutucal manpower needs un the month s ahead Moreover ut wull give these students an opportunuty to udentufy themselves ummeduately and durectly wuth the war effort through varuous forms of servuce actuvutues 'Quoted from Paul V McNutt I I I 1 .
