FOOTBALL BASKETBALL WE THEY Sept. 28, Oxford 12 7 Oct. 5, Greene 14 0 Oct. 19, Sidney ss 0 Oct. 26, North J. V. 28 0 Nov. 2, Hancock 13 0 Led by Captain john O'Rourke the Football team surprised its followers by going through a tough sched- ule, undefeated. The highlights of the season were the victories by Deposit over North High Jayvees of Binghamton, and over a highly touted Hancock team that had previously downed all its opposition. By winning the Susquehanna League Championship, the Sth Football championship in 10 years is credited to Mr. Fox's record. BASEBALL April 24, Windsor at Windsor April 29, Hancock at Deposit THEY Dec. Guided by Mr. Fox, they should give a good account of themselves in League Competition. The Lumberjacks paced by Vere Conklin, won the Championship of the Susquehanna League, thus boost- ing the total of Basketball championships to 7 in 10 years. TRACK Due to the early publication of this Yearbook before a Track schedule was released, the 1941 schedule will be omitted. But tentatively the Track team will compete with practically the same schools that they did last year. Although last year was Lee Conklin's first year on the Track team he was good enough in the quarter mile to push Jack Sliter, holder of D. C. S. quarter mile record, to a new record each time they competed. Lee should do great things this year. Included on the track roster are Ralph Hall, Elwin VanValkenburg, and Vere Conklin, members of last year's team. Among the newcomers are a few promis- ing prospects who should develop rapidly due to the able coaching of Mr. Kent, and Mr. Sutliff who will assist Mr. Kent this year.
