THE SUPERINTENDENT DR. WILLIAM F. PHELAN I WITH deepest gratitude we, the Class of '53, thank Dr. Phelan for his un- tiring efforts in making our days at Depew High School as pleasant and successful as they have been. He has worked with us and for us throughout our high school years. His interest and understanding have been of great help in boosting our morale for whatever proiect we planned. Through his efforts, we have had well-bal- anced programs in education and recreation. His wise leadership and co- operation with the students, will never be forgotten. To a great man and a good friend of every student, we give our humble thanks for all he has done to make our days at Depew High School long to be remembered. 8

BOARD OF E DUCATION T HE Board of Education has, through its remarkable energies and foresight, made our years at Depew High School ones never to be forgotten. The new football field, which we have been using for the past two years, is looked upon with pride by the students at D. H. S. as well as all the people in the community. We mustn't forget the building of the new school at Transit Road, which greatly relieved the crowded situation in our school for the teachers ancl students of the lower grades. This certainly portrays the work ofa group of co-operative and industrious men who plan for the future of the young citizens of Depew. The Board of Education has, indeed, done a great iob and deserves much praise and admiration for its accomplishments. The Class of '53 wishes to thank the Board of Educa- tion, who works not for profit but for the good of the whole community. Its unending services are greatly appreciated by the Class of '53 as well as all the stu- dents at D. H. S.
