Enchantment . . Dark Shadow, misty colors blended Gossamer strands of decoration tangled low Voices, someone laughing, music- muted sounds Words whispered close, radiant eyes and trembling, falling stars. Fight! Fight! Fight! was the cry of every Rebel at rallies held before football and basketball games. The infectious spirit of the cheerleaders and the vivacious whirling of the Pom-Pom girls keyed the student body to a high pitch of excitement. After coaches of the teams added encourage- ment and assurance, South's Number-One Rebel Rouser, Mr. Lort, received standing ovations for his customary pep talks. Humorous and satirical skits by faculty and students always gave the supporters a hilarious preview of the game. t 9.'lP'!f!.
