Steve, their son, has just come home from two years in the Marines. He finds his family too domineering trying to adjust him to civilian life. Steve's worst problem is that his mother and Clara, the girl he left behind and daughter of his mother's best friend, have made all the arrangements for their immediate marriage. He decides to pretend that he has been a psycho-neurotic patient and that he has spells without warning. Actually, Steve has fallen in love with a Navy nurse, Lt. Shirley Anderson. He pretends to have a relapse, then suggests that they get his former nurse. Clara consents, providing she can learn how to take care of Steve herself. Wfhen Shirley arrives, it becomes a free- for -all. Someone's coming, quick give me the old treatment!
