Denver City High School The Denver City High School grounds consist of three blocks of land on the west boundary of the town section, about three blocks from the north boundary. The high school is housed in a modern one-story brick structure con- sisting of twelve classrooms, and combination gymnasium-auditorium. The building was erected in 1940 at a cost of approximately 395,000.00 The school plant is equipped with many modern conveniences. The heating unit consists of a gas-heated steam boiler and radiator system. The building is unusually well lighted with semi-indirect lighting equipment. It contains an intercornmunication telephone system which is connected with each room of the building. Perhaps the most modern feature of the building is the combined radio, public address, and intercommunication equipment, Among the other types of equipment might be listed the automatic clock and signal system with its six subsidiary clocks which are located at convenient places in the building. The school has its own water plant which consists of a well, electric pump, overhead tank with pipe and modern fountain dis- tribution system. The sewage disposal plant consists of a septic tank with tiie drainage under the football field. Two official concrete tennis courts are located on the southwest corner of the campus. On each side of the football field is erected a stadium and lighting equipment which enables us to enjoy night football games. This stadium will seat approximately seven hundred people, An addition to the north side of the building, consisting of a band re- nearsal room and dressing rooms for the athletic teams, has lust been come pleted at a cost of 312,000.00
