Students Gain Experience Assisting Teachers Begun last year on an experimental basis, a program was expanded this year in which students assist teachers in grades K-12. At the beginning of the year the students and teachers fill out a contract specifying the various duties to be performed by the students. Upon satisfac- tory completion of this contract, students receive a unit of credit. More important, the students learn about working with children and gain a better understanding of some of a teacher's responsibilities. fi! wal
