Memories of Summer Fode os With the largest enrollment at D.H.5. ever. Registration Day created crowded halls and mild havoc this year. Mr. McNeely, ad- dressing sophomores, iuniors and seniors in 4 an assembly, pressed his hopes for the en- i 'R ly suing school year. For the benefit of new stu- lt dents, he explained the rules and regulations governing school activities. The student coun- cil officers were formally presented to the student body. Student's schedules were or- ganized by a computer at North Texas State University. This was a new method of sched- uling classes to D.H.S. An advisory afforded students the opportunity to meet their new teachers and become acquainted with the daily routine. Acquaintances are quickly revived on the first day of school. Al Taylor relates an animated story to a classmate as Bob Harpool, Mike Redden and Lanny Hooper ioin in for more details. Excited iuniors gather before the bulletin board waiting to get advisory lists, as Eddie Killian tries to locate his name and the teacher's room number. Annual sales traditionally begin on registration day. Ronnie Camp waits to receive the correct change from Lonnie Foreman before writing a receipt. Members of the Bronco staff, Margaret Stapler, Mary Robertson and Jana Jones busily assist other students. '5v' 'iff--f- I4 ,

First Week Concludes on Friendly Note Mark Jones, the lead singer of the Box Springs , pauses as the band plays a musical interlude during Gloria . New and old students take advantage of the band's ability as they crowd the large dance floor. Sue Rainey and Danny Gafford enjoy the fast beat of the band at the Howdy dance, while faculty sponsors look for outstanding spirit and friendliness displayed by the students. For the first time, a D.H.S. party was held in the new Denton Civic Center. The facilities of the building provided an interesting variation from the tradition of having the parties in the high school cafeteria. I6 's--- mnmnqt, ,.,,.. .
