With Summertime Plcinning Preparing for the '67-'68 school a year, active students devoted much of their summer vacation to workshops, conventions, re- hearsals and meetings. Lots of extra practice helped the Bronco cheerleaders to win many awards at SMU during the summer. The girls attended the cheerleading school to learn new yells, compete with other high school cheerleaders for awards and to practice routines for the school year. Senior Ronnie Camp takes the aptitude test given during the summer to help him recognize his potentials in the various 'Fields of learning, and to schedule his classes to better comply with his intellectual interests. School counselors, Mrs. Kamma nand Mrs. Holt, deliver the schedules to be computed by the IBM machines. Memories of Summer Fode os With the largest enrollment at D.H.5. ever. Registration Day created crowded halls and mild havoc this year. Mr. McNeely, ad- dressing sophomores, iuniors and seniors in 4 an assembly, pressed his hopes for the en- i 'R ly suing school year. For the benefit of new stu- lt dents, he explained the rules and regulations governing school activities. The student coun- cil officers were formally presented to the student body. Student's schedules were or- ganized by a computer at North Texas State University. This was a new method of sched- uling classes to D.H.S. An advisory afforded students the opportunity to meet their new teachers and become acquainted with the daily routine. Acquaintances are quickly revived on the first day of school. Al Taylor relates an animated story to a classmate as Bob Harpool, Mike Redden and Lanny Hooper ioin in for more details. Excited iuniors gather before the bulletin board waiting to get advisory lists, as Eddie Killian tries to locate his name and the teacher's room number. Annual sales traditionally begin on registration day. Ronnie Camp waits to receive the correct change from Lonnie Foreman before writing a receipt.
