gage' 'Zfeaftd and ' ' Health Education and Physical Education are presented to the male enrollment of Denton High School by James Magill and Vern Lane fabove leftl, Jim Eaves, shown above center sweating the side lines with Johnny Hall and Jerry Franks, and Cecil Martin fbetter known as Zekej who appears on the side lines, permanently wired for sound, with Ruben James and Mack Massey. ln addition to competitive varsity sports, the quartet of coaches instruct the boys in athletic skills and the care and keeping of their bodies. Basketball is a favorite sport the year-round for those who enroll in PE, rather than going out for varsity sports. At far right, Don Brown gets an assist with his suit before going into a game from Bill Russell. R., L. Vern Lane tapes a trick ankle for a Bronco player-and then, after a hard session of body English on the side lines, a well- deserved rest. .

With a School Nurse. it isn't all throat swabbin' and iodine paint- ing. There's paper work, too. And then at far right, Mrs. Dib- ble is pictured in one of her daily tussles with office records, while Pat Lambert looks uncon- cerned. immune Part of Mrs. Dibble's chores at DHS will make her feet flat. Here she supervises the Honor Society scholarship tests. At far right, Barbara Crimes tidies up the joint where she assists Mrs. , 3 Mclntire, RN. At Denton High School, Mrs. Mildred Mclntire checks a student's eyeballs in a matter of routine. Among her many other duties, Mrs. Mc must attend to students who fall ill at school, follow through until they're back in class and see to the general health welfare of the whole school district. Below right: Ed Cook and Johnny Clark are pictured checking schedules and graduation requirements with Mrs. Maxie Dibble, DHS guidance counselor. lt's Mrs. Dibble who sees to it that students take what they need when they need it. Miss Wells tback to cameral specializes in the round table discussion when plying her trade as Girls' Health education teacher. Here, she's in session with Rosemary Lockhart, Linda Spaulding, Margaret Mitchell, Judy Colwell. Ann Harris, Jane Willingham, Oleta McNary, Judy Prideaux. Mary Ann Lockhart, Isabella Gibson. sn fi t Mega Girls' PE builds strong bodies and teaches coordination. Anna- belle Allen tells first aid experts Sandra Dean and Laura Ballard It only hurts when l laugh. As in the case of Boys' PE and HE, the chief aims of Mrs. Frances Melton and Miss Joanna Wells, Jr., are to teach the girls to care for their health and welfare, to better understand the workings and functions of the human body and to develop athletic skills and abilities.
