O l Good drivers are born-then perfected with good training. Coach Vern Lane stepped into the Driver Education slot this year, replacing Doyle Chrisman, who was kicked upstairs into the principal's job over at Sam Houston Elementary. Above, Lane demonstrates on a scale-model intersection the difficulties you can get into for Frances Blankenship, Retha Christopher, Larry Harn and Nolan Bell. This is one of many Hdry runw techniques which Lane, who doubles in brass as basketball mentor and HE instructor. Two other kinds of dry run techniques to better driving are demonstrated by Paul Rippe, Joy Gail Clearman, Nancy Chambers, Eva .lane Wright, and Lloyd Justus. Students attend regular high school classes half of each day, then go to jobs which they either obtained for themselves, or which were gotten for them through the pirogram. Local businessmen who participate in the DE program have nothing but high praise for the kind of employees furnished to them from the classes.
