' 'aw The Commercial Arts faculty is 'lmannedl' by Mrs. Lucille Ray, Mrs. Judy Hudson, Mrs. Cecile McKelvey and Mrs. Virginia Moore. These good ladies teach a variety of subjects to the neophyte business men and women, including typing, shorthand, bookkeeping, and general business methods. Here they're pictured in an after-school session at which student needs and problems are discussed, as well as teaching problems. Two Commercial Arts mob scenes - with student teacher Johnson presiding in the left- hand view, which is a shorthand class. At right is a class in judo where students are taught to hold down desk jobs. Jerry O'Rear recoils in fright over the copy confronting him in typing. Shirley Vaughn, Mrs. Ray, Eddie Savage and Willena Meeker pretend not to notice. Right: Mrs. Spears substitutes in shorthand.

Her job: open it without the bellls ringing! Distributive Education, taught and supervised at Denton High School by Homer Bronstad, is a new concept in education. Students attend regular high school classes half of each day, then go to jobs which they either obtained for themselves, or which were gotten for them through the pirogram. Local businessmen who participate in the DE program have nothing but high praise for the kind of employees furnished to them from the classes. Below, Homer Bronstad, director of the program, passes out materials to DE students Mary Bowers, Gerald Coggeshall, Rocky Montgomery. I C I I
