Boys' Health and Physical Education Except where varsity sports meet Physical Edu- cation requirements, boys must fulfill the same re- quirements as girls, to win diplomas from Denton High School . . . two semesters of each. ln Physi- cal Education classes, boys compete with one another in tag football, softball, basketball, field events and other such body-building sports. Boys, Health Education also deals with the hu- man body . . . its structure and care . . . and the harmful effects of had habits are studied to reveal their uselessness. B.S., M.S.g Health Education Two semesters of Health Education and two of Physical Education are required of all girls who would graduate from DHS Health Ed stresses the necessity for taking care of the human body and protecting it from harmful disease-. Cleanliness, good grooming diet study and a survey of communicable diseases largely make up the curriculum. Health students benefit greatly from field trips integrated into the program. From such trips they obtain a knowledge of various private and government-conducted health programs and the methods used by hospitals in the area to treat different types of patients and their ailments. P.E. is designed to teach the girls how to make the best use of their leisure time through organlzed competitive sports and play activities.

Needed confidence and skill are gained through public speaking, radio workshops, dramatics, debate and corrective drills, both competitive and non-competitive.
