Class HISIOID On September 2 1946 Mrs Newton the frrst grade teacher had an enrollment of twen ty seven flrst graders Elvrn Beach Ernest Beacn Deanna Brayton Carol Brown Nancy Det ds Carol Iuget Myra Johnson Jed, Iuel Ed Kern Marere Lancaster Agnes McCane Iames Mlller Glorta Orton Ierry Pumphrey Nancy Shlrm Karolyn Rald Audrey Schnelder Kaye Smrth Larry Stevenson Gerald Thele Donna Underwood IanetWatk1ns Esther Noodall Gary Yaley Raymond Steward Ethel Schrader and Sharon Weyr1ck In tht years that followed we have garned and lost many classmates Those addztlonal ,ear urougnt addrtronal students and knowledge Karolyn Rald Deanna Brayton Kaye Smrth Gary Yalc y Ld Kern M1 e Mlller and Audrey Schnerder have attended Denmark Hlgh School the entrre twelve years ltavrng completed the frrst e1ght years we were then ready to challenge four years of 'ugh school We were tne largest freshman class that ever enrolled 1n Denmark There were thrrty nrne enrolled Our class now numbers twenty flve Wayne Beach Carl Bell Lalma Bruz1t1s Dale Fran l1n Mary Farrrs Ethel Schrader Patty Smoot Raymond Steward and Harland We started our freshman year wlth the usual procedure our 1n1t1at1on It w1ll be cher rshed by all In return we gave the sophomores a hayrrde The summer all too short passed and we started our sophomore year We started the year out rrght by 1n1t1at1ng the tresnmen In return they gave us a party Also rn our sophomore year we were represented wrth two cheerleaders Carol Reed and Helen Arnold and the followlng glrls part1c1pated rn basketball Patty Smoot Carol Lynn Carlson Deanna Brayton Kay Rard and Audrey Schnerder The followlng boys of our class took part ln boys basketball Charles Cornes Mrke Mlller and Glenn Rlnkenberger Later ln that year we ordered our class rlngs We were then ready for our jumor year whrch we ll all agree seemed to go by very fast Our flrst maln event 1n our Juntor year was the recelvlng of our class rxngs Our next step was the productlon of our class play whlch was entltled Money Mad It was a comedy and turned out qurte successful We were well represented 1n the sports fleld that year FIVE g1rls were 1n basketball three of them mak1ng the flrst team and three boys one of whom was on the flrst team Lalma Bruzrtrs and Marv1n Glngrlch were managers On the baseball team there were four Junror players out of the four two were on the flrst team The next b1g event was the preoaratlon of the prom the theme belng Moonhght and Roses We decorated the gym as lf lt were a garden of roses 1n the moonllght Then came the senrors commencement w1th the Junlor class precedrng them reallzlng w1th every step we would soon be atta1n1ng that goal graduatxon Now we have reached our peak our semor year Flrst we had our prctures taken at the Natlonal Studro ln Burllngton That day proved to be lots of fun As the days passed qu1ckly lt wasn t long before we were workmg on our annual Next we were practlclng on our play My Gold wr1tten by our drrector Mrs Kelly It was presented on Aprll 25th All senlors partlcrpated Then one day we all took off 1n cars and had our sklp day Now we were all 1nv1ted to attend the Iumor and Semor Prom on May 9th We all en Joyed lt very much . n 1 1 1 1 - 1 'A ' 1 ' - 1 1 - ' 1 ' 1 - 1 1 1 1 ,f, ' , I .. .
