Class Prophecy I had just stcpped onto the steps that lead to the T W A ID my voyage around the world when tht pmlot called to us that the plane was about to leave As h1s face seemed fam1l1ar 1 Qkmng I bcgan to questlon h1m and found out lt was no other than the short dark harred bgy that lwent to school w1th Cl1fford Mecklenburg He sa1d he had spent four years go mg tn sthool and was now flylng for thc Trans World A1rl1nes bes1des some smaller pas senger plancs owned by h1mself After I was seated and lt was near1ng txme for take off the Stewardess who was Patr1ca Brockway told us to fasten our safety belts she stop ped and had a chat wmth us She sa1d she went to school two years and smnce then had work td for the Trans World A1rl1nes also she works as Cl1fford s Stewardess on h1s own plane Our f1rst stop was at New York where we were to spend the rest of the day and mght Havlng noth1ng else to do we dec1ded to look around the c1ty havlng heard that some of our othtr classmates who were there too I-xrst we went on Broadway where we found a gayly decorated dress shop We learned that Joyce Petersen was a famous dress des1gner for them We asked where we could Imd her and was sent to the backroom where we found her bus1ly sketchlng on the newest tash1ons On the other s1de of the room we saw another fam1l1ar face that of Joyce Hol mes who was workmg as a model for Joyce Petersen s orlgmal clothes Wh1le havmg a long c hat w1th them we learned that Mae Hoffman another former classmate was work mg down the street as a secretary for a b1g Insurance Company We walked there and found her very bus1ly typlng letters She stopped and talked to us a l1ttle Whlle We learn cd that she was enJoy1ng her work very much We d1dn't want to keep her from her work any longer so we dec1ded to move on We walked to the street stop and took 1t to Brook lyn Avenue and walked down the street Suddenly we passed a w1ndow saymg Beulah's had started a school of dancmg we walked 1n and soon we were asked 'would you l1ke to take danc1ng lessons 'P As she d1d not recognlze us we told her who we were than sat and talkcd to her and watched her teach a student how to dance It was gett1ng pretty late by now so we dec1ded to go back to our hotel room Havmg noth1ng else planned we dec1ded to make a mght of xt so we went to a mght club We were eat1ng our steak d1nner and watchmg the people come rn when we recogmzed the f1gure of Donald Blanchard w1th a cute l1ttle Brunette Rlght away he recogmzed us and came over and sat at our table We learned that Don and h1s brunette were just newly marr1ed the day before and were spendmg the1r honeymoon 1n New York When we asked what h1s plans for the future were he sa1d he had purchased a ranch mn Texas and was plan mng on ra1s1ng a fam1ly of cowglrls We talked to Don and h1s charmlng W1f8 untll It was gcttmg pretty late and we dec1ded to go to the hotel and get some sleep The next morn mg we were awakened by a knock on the door and the volce of a fam1l1ar person After openmg our eyes and yawrnng I saw another fam1l1ar classmate Bonnle Glasgow She told us that she had won a tr1p around the world for be1ng Champlon ln the Amerrcan All Star Basketball Tournament she told us that she would be aboard the same a1rl1ne as we were so wc got dressed ate breakfast and set out for the Alrport Our plane was to leave at 8 30 A M Bonn1e stopped to talk to Cl1fford wh1le Patrlca and I went on 1n Seated rlght across from us sat a man w1th a newspaper 1n front of h1s face In spxte of th1s I recog mzed Harry Thuleen We talked to h1m and found out he was a reporter for the Chxcago Red Soxs and was on h1s way to Ch1cago now after attendxng a game between the Ch1cago Red Soxs and the New York Yankees played at New York Our next stop was at Ch1CagO where we spent our tune s1ghtsee1ng We took a specxal s1ghtsee1ng bus to the Stock Yards Wh1le there we notlced a truck readlng Clyde Neml Hunsaker Truckmg Phone 1606 West Polnt Iowa we were unable to talk to h1m then but made lt a po1nt to see h1m then before 19 U . x ' ' - . , r, l U ' ' .
