We have spirit, yes we do By Mary jo Martin and Marla jones The cheerleaders contributed to the jacket teams' victories with spirit boosting projects all year. They worked many hours to erfect stunts, cheers and yells for the games and pep rallies. In june, they at- tended camp at Southern Methodist University in Dallas where they learned new chants and routines. They won numerous ribbons for their spirit and abilities at camp. Leading the cheers were varsity cheerleaders Lori England, Beth Glass, Christy Holland, Betty Ann Martin, Michelle Martindale, Ken- dall McKinley, Shawnna White and Head Cheerleader Marlene Fritts. Cheerleading sponsor is Mrs. Cathey Williams. junior varsity cheerleaders are Stacie Edwards, Tama Groff, Paige Hudgins, Kim jones, Lori Mullens, jodie Smith, Rochelle White, and Meredith Williams. Freshman cheerleaders are Laura Ballou, Lara Coker, Missy Hollensed, jina Horton, jessica Lowe, jenny McCarley, Candice Noe, and Rhonda Patterson. Other royalty winners were Princess Beth Glass, Prince Roger Hanson, Duchess Gia Slagle, Duke Chris Auten, Lady Stephanie Senich and Lord Tim McAden. Glass and Christy Holland won first place in talent competition. Priscilla Crain was second and a group called The Knights won third. Neewollah is DenTeen's major fund raising projet of the year. Can- didates file a fee and collect votes valued at a nickel a vote. Candidates who rasie the most money, by classes, are named winners and presented at the talent show. Talent contestants must try out for the privilege of performing and competing in Neewollah.
