Runnersup honored By Harold Allison Lori England and Mary Shields were first and second runners up for Homecoming Queen. Both England and Shields were involved in high school activities such as cheerleading and many other organizations who boost jacket spirit. They were involved in DenTeens, Yellow jacket Year- book, United Service Club and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. They were presented at the pep assembly and halftime. And The Spirit Shines f Lori England, above left, and Mary Shields, above right, joined the presentation of nominees and sweethearts in the auditorium when it rained on the parade. England poses with her ep assembly escort, Robert Stubbs, right. Spencer johns is Shields' escort, below ri ht. The homecoming queen nominees were escorted by seniors for the pep assembly, and by their fathers at the game. England and Shields join Queen Marlene after the halftime. The Student Council, sponsor of the activities, provided arm boquets for the nominees and made decorations for their parade entry, Rain cancelled the parade minutes before it was to Jegin sending the pageant indoors. Nominees and their fathers pro- ceeded to the Boy's Club where the dance would be held for pic- tures before the game. fr Homecoming9

Fin- ding a date for the game, getting a mum or boutonniere, and choosing the, Homecoming Queen are some of the activities involved.
