THE PAST IS AN IMPROTANT FACTOR IN BUILDING THE FUTURE JUST AS THE ANNUALS PUBLISHED IN YEARS PAST ARE THE VERY BACKBONE OF THE ONE THAT WE PUBLISH TODAY. TO THESE BOOKS, IN WHICH' HAVE BEEN KEPT RECORDS OF THE YEARS WHICH HAVE PROVIDED INSPIRATION FOR US, WE DEDICATE THIS I955 YELLOW JACKET. -6.- AAS, ADMINISTRATION I sl L. gg.: ' J -wi MR. B. McDANIEL Denison, though a comparatively young town, has had three high schools. There are no complete records of the pupils and graduates until the class of 1887, which had five members. The class of l9l5, with 27 members was the first to graduate from the second high school - now the Junior High School. You, the class of l955, with nearly 200 members, will soon have the distinction and privilege of being the first to graduate from Denison's third high school. You have made a record of which your parents and teachers are proud, and you now know your plans for the future. The school is sending you out into the game of life with feelings second only to those of your parents - affection and best wishes. Superintendent MRS. JEAN CAMPBELL MRS. RACHEL HENDERSON Secretary Assistant Secretary 4 .155 Principal 3 i l I 5 5 1 3 MRS. MARIE TROUT Secretary PL. w MR. CHARLES B. HAMILTON Students: A life without a purpose is like a ship without a compass. It gets nowhere be- cause it lacks direction. Consider what you desire to be and to accomplish. Give sus- tained attention to the great decisions - religion, occupation, marriage, the choice of a home, avocation. You will find shortcomings which you can correct and handicaps which you must accept and try to overcome, but if you model your life after some person who has high character, integrity, and sound judg- ment, if you will let Him fill your heart, your mind, and your body with peace and power, you will then be ready to influence others to live a wholesome lite.
