The band was then considered an extra curricular activity, the students received no credit, the director received no pay. The band met at night inside the high school, and for uniforms they wore wnite shirts, bow ties, black trousers, and some typ: of coatfciuitc o contrast to thc l954 band ..,, The first three months of school the band was kept busy working on music for football garnes and pep raflies, and on half-time programs to be presented at the garnos. The band went to all of the out-of-town games except the one at Long- view, and also to four college football ga'nes. As soon as football season was over the band was talking about and working on concert and contest music. The band presented two concerts for the city of Denison. One was at Christmas and the other was in the spring. This year the band presented concerts in many neighboring towns, Band Council members discuss some of the problems that are brought before them. The Stage Band runs through a rehearsal.
