The Oratorio Chorus of sixty voices presents “The Messiah” by Handel each year as a Christmas offering. An a capella choir of forty represents the school in Interscholastic League, also in various civic and church events, such as the annual Easter sunrise service. A male glee club and a girls’ chorus are interesting groups with appealing programs. Popular with civic clubs are the three small assemblies: a girls’ sextet, a girls’ trio, and a boys’ quartet. Membership in these is highly prized. 84 THE HIGH SCHOOL CHORUS H F o o t b a 88 Miss Helen Hodges Sponsor Top Row: Max Aucutt Nancy Eyer Bob Leach Bottom Row: LeAnn Hathaway John Huffman Bettye Steakley 89 Football Lettermen Ted Bearden Back Ronald Boatwright End Jerry Bo rum Back Sonny Bruno Back Walter Chandler Back Jerry Crenshaw Back 90 Football Lettermen Carroll Davis Back Luther Gohlke End Sonny Hauser End Jim Henderson Tackle Phil Hosford Tackle Bob Kennon End 91 Football Lettermen Don Kilgore Back Bill Lane Robert Linsteadt Don Newby Guard Tackle Tackle Fred Pipkin Back Bobby Warner Guard Jackie Walton Center Football Reserves Bob Nelson Robert Brown Bob Rice Back End Back Don Boyd Miller Jerry l)uKK in Fred Holt Center Back End Joe Wilson Buddy French Buddy Carroll Center Tackle Tackle Football Reserves Johnny Zachary End Gilbert Brigham End Charles Hippy Back Bill Nichols Guard Royce Stalcup Guard Leon Dereberry Guard John Gailev Back Lowell Green Tackle Joe White End 95 B-Squad Football Coach Graydon Haze 1st Row: Manager Bob Britt, Harold Armstrong, Joe Espinosa, Ronnie May, Eddie Savage, Cecil Cordell.
