' l ' 4' BACDALAUREATE ' ., The Baccalaureate Sermon was delivered on Sunday night, May 22, 1938, to a large audience, by the Rev. Paul O. Cardwell, of Trinity Methodist Church. The subject of his address was The1 Set Q of the Heartfi The Trinity Methodist Choir offered music for the occasion. The Seniors, in caps and gowns, occupied the center section while the remainder of the audi- torium was filled with relatives and friends of the graduates. .1 . , t 2 ' X R 'S PRESENTATION CIF c:l.Avss MANTLE The conferringofthe class mantle upon the Junior Class on the closing day of school is one of the memorable events' of the Commencement week. This traditional presentation ceremonyf is made impressive by the appearance of the President of the outgoing class, clad in thea robe bearing numerals of by-gone classes...the last numeral being of the present class., After anhadmonitoiiy speech the Senior President, Marjorie Harshbarger, transferred the mantle to the shoulders of the Junior President: Edna Marie Groezinger. ' . V! Q BCIMMENCEMENT , ' Graduation exercises for the members of the Class of '38 were held in the High School Auditorium on the evening of May 27. If Rev. L. R. Lamb offered the Invocation. Dorothy Gobb, Valedictorian, and Marjorie 'Harshbarger, Salutatorian, delivered talks of their own composition. Twg choruses, Kentucky Babe, and The Old Refrain were sung by the graduating group. C -1 T W X Dr. E. M. Waits, President of T. C. U. gave an inspiring address to the Seniors. .W . . Diplomas were presented to the Graduates by Superintendent B. McDaniel.
