C. A. are: President, I Sarah Gene Hartg Vice President, Thomas Bradshawg Secretary, T' Gaynelle Loweg Treasurer, Dorothy Clarke. Through their ef- K forts, along with the help of the other students and with the V assistance and encouragement of our teachers, we have accom- i ' QQ plished many things through which the school as a whole has Q' profited. I v t In the fall of the year, our organization sponsored a Hal- T loween Carnival and sold Christmas cards in order to build up 4 our treasury. 5 After acquiring sufficient funds, the s. c. A. purchased new song books for use inlthe school, new athletic equipment n to assist in carrying out our physical education program, and made a contribution to the Rad Gross War mind. A. sent a gift Q to a soldier in McGuire's Hospital in Richmond as a function 5 ji: of the Junior Bed Cross, Another phase of our work to help the war effort is that of collecting waste fats, This is in I the hands of the War Activities Committee, 5 The various committees of the S. G. A. carry on other f special functions such as preparing interesting and educa- 5 tional programs for our nee tinge, keeping the drinking foun- 5 tains sanitary, keeping the cot linens clean, and keeping the 4 L Q, grounds cleaned of paper and trash, Our S. C, A. has been of great assistance to the school and we hope that through the work it has done our school has ' 5 become a better place for boys and girls to attend and from 5 which to receive an education.
