I can ' t very well write a poem about me, ' Cause I ' m not very good at poetry. So if it ' s alright with you I ' ll just leave myself out, ' Cause there ' s not very much to write about. Linda Hammerton comes along next, She ' s usually got her nose in a text. She tries to help as much as she can. She ' s always there to lend a hand. Next is a girl who is known as Ruthann, Her last name is Kampenga I understand. She doesn ' t say much, but that doesn ' t matter. I have no use for a lot of chatter. Next is Dean Kingma a boy who is known. For his dropping of tobies and breaking of toes. He ' s planning on going to college next fall. What he will be, I have no idea at all. Veronica Krucek comes next on the list, She ' s a sweet 1 8 and never been kissed. Her ambition is a mystery to me. But whatever she picks I ' m sure she ' ll succeed. Then comes sophisticated Gerald Gross, To him I shall now propose a toast. He gets along tine with the girls around. Him and his Plymouth are all over town. Next is Sam Hamstra with his quiet ways. He ' s trying his best to make straight A ' s. He ' s got a physique like Joe Bonomo, And a brand new Ford that will really go. Jock Kelly ' s o boy who likes his sports, He plays in games of all sorts. Football and basketball are the main two, But he likes to try the other ones too. Duane Knynsberg I will next unfold. He has quite a nack of drawing I ' m told. He ' s also a genius in physics and math, He ' s called the brain of the Senior class.

Class Poem By Will Dyke As you read the lines that are following here, I ' ll be trying my best to make them sound clear, They may not be the best that DeMotte ever had. But you have to admit that they ' re really not bad, It ' s not that I ' m bragging you understand, But my mind and my heart are ruling my hand. Mr. Hission ' s a man we ' ll always remember. He passed away the last of December. He was good and kind and he did all he could. To help us do the things that we should. First is Ruth Abbring, now there ' s a fine lass, She ' s the Student Council member of our class. Of the Football Homecoming, she was the queen. And I ' m sure you ' ll agree that she ' s really keen. Third ' s Mildred Coberly, or Millie she ' s called, She is usually not very easily failed. This is a girl who will go somewhere, With her dazzling green eyes and her reddish-blond hair. Then comes Russ Duggins, our class President, In sports he ' s the best, he ' s not easily bent. He likes to write articles which newspapers need, In Journalism I ' m sure he ' ll succeed. Mr. Leslie also sponsors our class, He ' s the shop teacher, what a blast. .He also sings and he does real nice As the Senior ' s sponsor I know he ' ll suffice. With class sponsors we ' re overflowing. But here is another one you ' ll be knowing. Mr. Babaganian was also elected, And I know dern well he won ' t be rejected. Next is Kay Bunning, a girl who is known. For her friendly smile that is usually shown. She is always around to lend a hand, In any way that she possibly can. Next on the list is Marilyn Dahm, She is quiet and nice and usually calm. She ' ll say hello wherever you meet. With a girl like her it ' s hard to compete.

Chuck Peterson ' s one who ' s been known quite awhile. For his good-natured ways and his friendly smile. He will probably further his education. After his high school lucubration. Warren Swart is always a happy soul, He ' s big too, as you probably know. He drives a Plymouth, the second he ' s had. It ' s pink and white, he might start a fad. Byron Walstra is one of those guys. Who is tall and thin and wears levis. He is a whiz in mathematics too. It makes me feel dumb to watch him go through. Next on the list comes Bob Eenigenburg, It ' s about the longest name I ' ve ever heard. But now it ' s been shortened to Inky I ' m told, Around all the teachers he tries to be bold. Next is Pat Wyre, last but not least, She likes to ride horses, and she keeps herself neat. What she will be is hard to tell. But whatever she does, she ' ll do it well. Bob Schaeier is one that ' s on the ball, Lu is what he likes to be called. He ' s got a blue Ford that runs once in awhile. But if it doesn ' t, he still wears a smile. Doreen Thornton is next I suppose, She has blond hair and a little pug nose. She gets mad sometimes, but that ' s okay, I guess we all get to feeling that way. Marilyn Walstra is next in line, She ' s tall, nice looking, and unusually kind. She doesn ' t say much, but she has her fun. Like most of us have at sometime done. I hope you ' ve enjoyed the lines I have written, ' Cause I tried my best to make them fittin ' . We ' ll soon be leaving these halls of learning. But it won ' t be long until we ' ll be yearning. For the good old days when we were carefree and gay, But we ' ll keep on going day after day. We ' ll soon be living a life of our own, But we ' ll always remember the warmness of home.
