These three custodians, along with part-time helper, Tony Borrego, cleaned rooms, washed windows, put up chairs for assemblies, and kept the cafeteria spotless. During the basketball season one or two of these fellows was in there. cleaning up the court between halves of a home game. Vaughn Head of Cafeleria Mfg, Mable llauer Mrs. Diana Moore Mrs. Olga Gibson 'g0ur business is foodf, might as well have been the motto of the DHS Cafeteria staff. In its second year of existence. the cafeteria, headed by Mrs. F. C. Vaughn, fed an average of 850 students a day. A plan was put into effect that would help the students from DHS and Deming Junior High School get through the chow line faster by using tokens instead of tickets. The student cafeteria workers, Jerry Scott, Carl Taylor, Marvin Little, Jewel Scott, Barbara Kucera, and Eldon Cozart, played an important part in feeding: the 450 DHS students and preparing -100 Mrs. Mary Shaeffer Mr. F. C. Vaughn meals to be taken in a truck to Smith, Bell, and Martin schools. Page 14
